I just had a few questions that i was not sure about after i read the text:


1.) why is the site of Knossos, Crete so significant and such a sight of intrigument?

2.) I noticed in the reading that Evan's reputation fared better than Schliemann's because he used "stratigraphy" (using deposit in excavations) what exactly does that mean?
